What We Believe

God – God has revealed Himself as Triune. We believe He is One God, and yet three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. (Deuteronomy 6:432; 1 Corinthians 8:4-62 Corinthians 13:1)

Scripture – God has revealed Himself to humanity through His written Word. That Word consists of the Old and New Testaments, and was recorded by inspiration of the Holy Spirit, and is therefore perfect, without error, and is the most profitable source for the equipping of God’s people. (Deuteronomy 4:13-1429:12 Timothy 3:1)

Humanity – People are made in the image of God, and have an inherent dignity to them, and were originally called to exercise dominion over all the earth: Human life is precious to God. (Genesis 1:26-279:6)

Sin – After humanity fell in the Garden of Eden, all people are now born in sin, and are unable to do good or obey God in their fallen human nature. (Genesis 3:624Romans 3:23)

Jesus – At just the right time, God acted to remedy the problem of human sin. God sent His perfect sinless son Jesus to die on our behalf. Jesus is the Messiah of Israel, he was crucified, buried, and raised on the third day. (Isaiah 53; Galatians 4:4John 3:16;  2 Corinthians 5:2110:10)

Salvation – Jesus died so that sinners could be saved, and reconciled to God the Father. Salvation is by grace through faith, and all who believe and call on the name of Jesus will be saved. (Joel 2:32Mark 10:45; Acts 4:11-12)

The Church – Jesus saves people into his church. The church is the body of Christ, and the bride of Christ, it is an organism gifted by the Spirit to bring the gospel to the world. The church then exercises the ministry of reconciliation, helping Jesus to bring those far off from God near to Him. The early church of Jesus laid down an example for us to follow: to continue in the Apostles teaching, fellowship, breaking of bread, and prayer. Jesus gives ministry leadership positions to his church, for the building up of the body for ministry: evangelists, pastors, and teachers are the positions active today, but the church overall is the minister of the gospel. (Matthew 16:18Acts 2:42Ephesians 4:11-12)

Jesus’ Coming – Jesus will come again, and the church is to expectantly await his return by witnessing to truth of all these things, and bringing people into a discipleship relationship to Jesus. (Matthew 28:18-20Mark 14:62Luke 12:40Acts 1:8,11;  1 Thessalonians 4:13-185:6, 8)
